Heron and Lamb

The concept behind Heron and Lamb is to preserve elements from the natural world and create jewelry as a way to carry these organic materials through time. Through the use of lost wax and resin casting, glass blowing, etching, and hand- fabricating vessels through traditional metalsmithing techniques, my work echoes the sentiment of the historical language of flowers, the age old practice of flower preservation, Victorian mourning jewelry, and lachrymatory tear bottles, which is the ancient practice of collecting one’s tears in bottles.
